When a loved one passes away, how to say goodbye is often the last thing on a person’s mind, but when that moment comes – it can be done in a way that best suits who they were and the love they leave behind.

I believe each farewell service, whether funeral, cremation or celebration of life, must be led with compassion, sincerity and kindness. Taking the time and care to listen to stories, memories and the relationships that were built over their life, will ensure the writing of a ceremony that has meaning and dignity alongside expressions of love and thanks.

Religious readings with prayers and hymns can in incorporated or the ceremony can be entirely secular. They are no hard and fast rules, it’s about whatever works for you and makes everything feel a little easier.  Farewells take many forms, from traditional funerals and cremation services, to uplifting Celebrations of Life, whatever it is you are considering, I would do my very best to help you make a good memory within a very difficult time.

A funeral service starts at £200 and includes initial meetings to get to know you, writing, drafting with feedback and delivering the ceremony at the venue of choice, advice on readings, guidance and support for those involved or speaking within the ceremony. If you are considering a smaller service, perhaps within a hospice or at home we can discuss different rates.

Separation

Your absence has gone through me
   like thread through a needle.
Everything I do is stitched with its colour.
